Suzy's Hat finished

I__made this with the same yarn her poncho was made of Sensations Angel Hair in pink and Patons Divine in Richest Rose - it should go nicely with the poncho. I used size 7us circular needles - cast on 70 stitches knit with both strands until ribbing was done and increased 10 stitches to get the bubble look. It fits on my head so I hope it's not to big for hers. Next on the needles for her are mittens to match her poncho and new hat.

Red Carpet Convertible Swatched

Here is the swatch of my RCC - the bottom half was knit with size 4.5mm and the top was knit with 3.25mm. I like the top half better, but my gauge is 6 spi and 8 rpi, I hope I have enough yarn :(

Suzy's Bag Finished!

Here are some pictures of Suzy's bag. I used left over yarn for this bag as well. Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece for main color and a cotton flecked ivory yarn for the contrasting color... I also added Suzy's name on the bag so she wouldn't lose it at Tap Class.

pictures of past knits continued

Here are a few things I made for my niece Alexis.
Hooded Sweater - Paton's Denim - Pink. The pattern was on the label, and a multi-colored pullover made from left over yarn I used for a baby blanket, Brown Sheep - Cotton Fleece - Purple, Orange and Yellow

pictures of past knits

Here are a few pictures of things I've knitted in the past, but didn't have a camera to take them with until now. Pictured is a copy of IW Knits Winter 2005 issue, the cover photo is of a ballet wrap, next to this is my sister modeling her ballet wrap knit with Sensations, Life, (this is a bulky yarn), from JoAnn Fabrics. The nice thing about the yarn is the gold/green/red/brown sparkly strand spun into it.
Sorry to hard for you to see.

Beaded Hair Tie

I went to the Stitches West Convention a couple of years ago and while perusing the booths I was mesmerized by a woman knitting a beaded scarf. (Swallow Hill Creations Booth) I stopped to watch for awhile. ...the woman made it look so easy I decided to buy the knitted scarf book, rayon thread and beads to have a go at it. I had never tried to knit with beads before, it was a lot harder than she made it look. Just beading the thread was grueling and, I believe it took me several tries to get it right. However, through my perseverance I succeeded making April. I chose not to place the beads on every stitch as the pattern indicated, but every other stitch.

The pictures attached are of the left overs I knitted a hair tie/belt, which ever I feel like wearing.

Enjoy.

Lil Suzy's Poncho

Afghans! Blankets! Afghans! Blankets!

Here is a pic of one of the blankets I've made.... I really like this yarn for afghan/blankets because it's soft and wash/dry friendly being that it's 98% Acrylic 2% Polyester

I use Lionbrand Homespun, this blanket is color: Barley. The pattern is a broken rib, it gives it a wavy effect. I've made 11 of these so far in the last 5 years. Yep, almost everyone has there own special blanket.
  1. Made one for myself - color - Country k2, p2 ribbing
  2. Mom - color - Antique & Sierra - broken rib with cables
  3. Grandma - color - Colonial & Williamsburg mixed together - broken rib
  4. Niece #1 - color - Colonial & Williamsburg mixed together - broken rib
  5. Cousin #1 - color - Country - broken rib
  6. Dad - color - Country - broken rib with cables
  7. Cousin #2 - color - Baroque - broken rib
  8. Nephew - color - Edwardian & Metropolis - in a different pattern can't remember
  9. Sister #2 - Gothic & Seaspray - broken rib w/celtic runes spell her name
  10. Niece #2 - color - Hepplewhite, Fushia, Florida Keys green - moss stitch
  11. Significant other - color - Barley - broken rib
Phew! I still have 2 more to do before christmas of this year - step dad and sister #1. At least they knit up quick - use two strands at a time on size 15us needles.

Calmer Left overs

I knitted this sweater for one of my five nieces. I'm not sure which one will fit in it yet, but I'm hoping the 7 year old, since her birthday is at the end of Sept.

I used the remainder of my Rowan, Calmer from the fifi kal.

I created the sweater pattern myself using cable patterns from Viking patterns for knitting written by Elsebeth Lavold.

I especially like the happiness symbols on the short sleeves.

Dirk's sweater progress

I started the back of Dirk's sweater. I need to get this done before my trip to Philly at the end of Sept. -- so much to knit, too many commitments. All my time is booked solid until after my friends wedding in the middle of October then I can knit knit knit.

recap of materials: Knit Picks, Wool of the Andes, color: Asparagus

Red Carpet Convertible

Here are some pics of the yarn I chose for the Red Carpet KAL. Recap of materials: Berocco, Bonsai, color: Japanese Maple.

I'm also thinking about adding Boning to make it more corset like.

My first knit sweater

This was my first sweater that I knit for myself. I had always made things for other people, so I bought some discontinued yarn from my local shop (it was a cotton yarn with a rayon wrap I think).

I used a basic pattern from a magazine, and knit it with a cable and lace stitch instead of stockinette.

I've had this for over 5 years now and still wear it.

Cabled Hoodie

A week of non-stop knitting, and ta-da a finished object.

I made this cabled hoodie for my niece, who just turned 16.

She told me she wears hooded sweat jackets that she gets in the boys department, so I decided to make her something girlie but warm. I used Lamb's Pride Worsted, 85% wool 15% mohair, color: Blue Magic. The pattern was in a Knit.1 magazine. I am really excited to see it on her, I loved making this project. I've had this yarn in my stash for about a year and when I saw this pattern it just clicked. My favorite part of this knit is the hood it came out perfectly.

This was also the first time I did bobbles and it wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be.

pictures of Victoria tank

I finally have a picture of the victoria tank. This pattern was in Interweave knits summer of 2004 I think. I completed this sweater some time ago...
I've changed the neckline to be lower in front and back. I used knit Picks, 100% cotton Shine sport, color: Crocus

I wear this all time, I love it.

Fifi finished

Hi everyone,

My birthday was at the beginning of August and guess what I got? My own digital camera - he he....
finally I don't have to rely on anyone else to take pictures.

BTW - I finished my Fifi a couple weeks ago, here's the recap of materials: Rowan, Calmer, color: Vintage. I did do the short rows for bust increase and increased/decreased the sides for more room in the chest area. This was the first time I've done short rows I was worried I'd get some weird holes, however, I'm rather pleased with the final result. It's kinda hard to see them so I need to take a better picture in natural light to show the detail.

I still haven't started the red carpet convertible though.... that's next.
